Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Northcote in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,627 females or 20.7%)
  • Education and Training (1,218 females or 15.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,156 females or 14.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,001 females in total or 50.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Victoria employed 22.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.0% in Education and Training; and 7.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Northcote and Victoria were:
