Analysis of the household/family types in Northcote Activity Area in 2021 compared to the City of Darebin shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 13.7% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.6% were one-parent families, compared with 26.1% and 9.1% respectively for the City of Darebin.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 34.9% compared to 29.4% in the City of Darebin while the proportion of couples without children was 28.6% compared to 23.2% in the City of Darebin.
