Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Lower Plenty in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (290 people or 14.9%)
  • Construction (257 people or 13.2%)
  • Education and Training (215 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 762 people in total or 39.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Banyule employed 16.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.2% in Construction; and 11.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Lower Plenty and the City of Banyule were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (13.2% compared to 9.2%)
