Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in North West Precinct in 2021 compared to Lower Plenty shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 34.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.7% were one-parent families, compared with 33.1% and 9.0% respectively for Lower Plenty.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.2% compared to 24.4% in Lower Plenty while the proportion of couples without children was 25.0% compared to 28.9% in Lower Plenty.
