Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Margaret River in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Accommodation and Food Services (516 people or 13.8%)
  • Retail Trade (397 people or 10.6%)
  • Manufacturing (362 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,275 people in total or 34.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River employed 11.9% in Accommodation and Food Services; 9.4% in Retail Trade; and 9.2% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Margaret River and the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River were:
