Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Green Square in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (3,921 people or 17.8%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (2,346 people or 10.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,924 people or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,191 people in total or 37.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Sydney employed 18.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 10.3% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 9.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Green Square and the City of Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (6.9% compared to 4.3%)
