Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Ward 3 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,265 females or 30.4%)
  • Education and Training (1,739 females or 12.4%)
  • Retail Trade (1,720 females or 12.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,724 females in total or 55.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Keiraville - Mount Keira employed 22.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 22.0% in Education and Training; and 10.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Ward 3 and Keiraville - Mount Keira were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (30.4% compared to 22.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (4.3% compared to 1.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (12.4% compared to 22.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (7.7% compared to 11.5%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Ward 3 increased by 3,945 between 2006 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2006 and 2021 in Ward 3 were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+2,138 females)
  • Education and Training (+682 females)
  • Public Administration and Safety (+317 females)
  • Administrative and Support Services (+212 females)
