Dominant groups

Analysis of the religious affiliation of the population of the Cities of Albury and Wodonga in 2021 compared to Wodonga Growth Area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who professed a religion and a lower proportion who stated they had no religion.

Overall, 51.4% of the population nominated a religion, and 41.6% said they had no religion, compared with 48.9% and 46.6% respectively for Wodonga Growth Area.

The largest single religion in the Cities of Albury and Wodonga was Western (Roman) Catholic, with 21.5% of the population or 21,324 people as adherents.

The major differences between the religious affiliation for the population of the Cities of Albury and Wodonga and Wodonga Growth Area were:
