Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Coastal District planning area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (85 people or 14.5%)
  • Retail Trade (61 people or 10.4%)
  • Education and Training (55 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 201 people in total or 34.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Wellington Shire employed 15.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.9% in Retail Trade; and 8.5% in Education and Training.
