Analysis of recent overseas arrivals attending educational institutions in Wellington Shire in 2021 compared to Gippsland Region shows that there was a higher proportion attending primary school, a lower proportion attending secondary school, and a lower proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 11.2% of recent overseas arrivals were attending primary school, 3.8% of the population were attending secondary institutions, and 10.6% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 9.0%, 4.8% and 11.8% respectively for Gippsland Region.

The major differences between the share of the recent overseas arriving population attending learning institutions in Wellington Shire and Gippsland Region were:
