Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Cronulla in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,082 males or 21.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (502 males or 10.0%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (388 males or 7.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,972 males in total or 39.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Jannali employed 17.0% in Construction; 11.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 8.0% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Cronulla and Jannali were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (21.5% compared to 17.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (2.8% compared to 1.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in retail trade (5.7% compared to 8.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (10.0% compared to 11.8%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Cronulla decreased by 269 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Cronulla were for those employed in:

  • Accommodation and Food Services (-79 males)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (-68 males)
