Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Stroud and surrounds in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (137 males or 21.2%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (97 males or 15.0%)
  • Manufacturing (59 males or 9.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 293 males in total or 45.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Wingham employed 15.9% in Construction; 3.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 14.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Stroud and surrounds and Wingham were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (15.0% compared to 3.1%)
