Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Prestons in 2021 compared to Liverpool LGA shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 58.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.5% were one-parent families, compared with 44.2% and 14.2% respectively for Liverpool LGA.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 8.3% compared to 16.3% in Liverpool LGA while the proportion of couples without children was 15.2% compared to 17.0% in Liverpool LGA.
