Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Westleigh in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (185 males or 15.9%)
  • Construction (116 males or 10.0%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (99 males or 8.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 400 males in total or 34.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Hornsby Shire employed 15.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 10.5% in Construction; and 9.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Westleigh and Hornsby Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (8.0% compared to 6.3%)
