Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Thornleigh in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (677 people or 15.0%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (621 people or 13.8%)
  • Education and Training (594 people or 13.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,892 people in total or 42.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, North Sydney Council area employed 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 21.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 7.6% in Education and Training.
