Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Smithfield in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (377 females or 22.4%)
  • Retail Trade (214 females or 12.7%)
  • Education and Training (194 females or 11.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 785 females in total or 46.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Yennora employed 25.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.9% in Retail Trade; and 10.6% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Smithfield and Yennora were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (7.3% compared to 3.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (5.6% compared to 2.6%)
