Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Echuca in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,223 people or 17.8%)
  • Retail Trade (781 people or 11.4%)
  • Construction (757 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,761 people in total or 40.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Echuca (West) employed 17.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.9% in Retail Trade; and 10.6% in Construction.

The major difference between the jobs held by the population of Echuca and Echuca (West) was:

  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (9.7% compared to 10.8%)
