More North East Precinct residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2021.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in North East Precinct in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,367 people or 15.2%)
  • Education and Training (1,124 people or 12.5%)
  • Construction (1,064 people or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,555 people in total or 39.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Briar Hill employed 16.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.6% in Education and Training; and 12.8% in Construction.

The major difference between the jobs held by the population of North East Precinct and Briar Hill was:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.9% compared to 8.6%)
