Dominant groups

Analysis of the share of the female population attending educational institutions in the City of Yarra in 2021 compared to Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South shows that there was a lower proportion attending primary school, a lower proportion attending secondary school, and a higher proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 4.3% of the female population were attending primary school, 3.3% of the female population were attending secondary institutions, and 12.2% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 4.8%, 3.9% and 10.3% respectively for Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South.

The major differences between the share of the female population attending learning institutions in the City of Yarra and Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South were:

  • A larger percentage of females attending University (10.2% compared to 8.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females not attending (72.8% compared to 74.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females attending a Government primary school (3.3% compared to 4.4%)
