Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 25 females who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Healesville and Surrounds, compared with 1,269 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the female residents in Healesville and Surrounds in 2021, compared to the City of Whittlesea, shows that 1.0% used public transport, while 52.3% used a private vehicle, compared with 5.3% and 54.7% respectively in the City of Whittlesea.
The major differences in females between the method of travel to work of Healesville and Surrounds and the City of Whittlesea were:
- A larger percentage of females who did not go to work (18.7% compared to 14.8%)
- A larger percentage of females who walked only (2.9% compared to 0.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females who travelled by train (0.5% compared to 4.1%)
