Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Yarra Ranges Council in 2021 compared to the City of Melton shows that 93.4% of the households owned at least one car, while 2.8% did not, compared with 91.3% and 3.1% respectively in the City of Melton.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 26.6% of the households owned one car; 40.2% owned two cars; and 26.7% owned three cars or more, compared with 27.8%; 41.1% and 22.3% respectively for the City of Melton.
