Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Edgecliff in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (140 females or 19.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (100 females or 13.9%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (81 females or 11.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 321 females in total or 44.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Woollahra Municipality employed 20.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Edgecliff and Woollahra Municipality were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (5.0% compared to 3.3%)
