Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Woollahra in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (821 people or 22.0%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (539 people or 14.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (421 people or 11.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,781 people in total or 47.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Sydney Eastern Suburbs employed 16.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 9.7% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 12.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Woollahra and Sydney Eastern Suburbs were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (22.0% compared to 16.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (14.5% compared to 9.7%)
