Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Woollahra in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (400 males or 22.4%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (326 males or 18.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (133 males or 7.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 859 males in total or 48.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Sydney Eastern Suburbs employed 17.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 11.5% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Woollahra and Sydney Eastern Suburbs were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (18.2% compared to 11.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (22.4% compared to 17.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (6.2% compared to 11.8%)
