Dominant groups

Analysis of the qualifications of the population in Ward 2 in 2021 compared to North Wollongong shows that there was a similar proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.

Overall, 60.1% of the population aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 32.8% had no qualifications, compared with 60.4% and 34.9% respectively for North Wollongong.

The major differences between qualifications held by the population of Ward 2 and North Wollongong were:

  • A larger percentage of persons with Vocational qualifications (19.0% compared to 16.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons with Bachelor or Higher degrees (31.8% compared to 35.3%)
