Analysis of the car ownership of non-English speakers in Wollongong City Council in 2021 compared to the total population in Wollongong City Council shows that 91.5% were in households that owned at least one car, while 7.3% did not, compared with 91.5% and 4.7% respectively in the total population in Wollongong City Council.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 32.0% of non-English speakers were in households that owned one car; 36.3% owned two cars; and 23.1% owned three cars or more, compared with 25.3%, 40.4% and 25.9% respectively for the total population in Wollongong City Council.
