Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in West Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,965 people or 18.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,303 people or 12.0%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (1,298 people or 12.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,566 people in total or 42.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Hunters Hill Municipality employed 15.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.3% in Financial and Insurance Services.
