There were more professionals in Epping in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Epping in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (2,469 people or 16.4%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (2,204 people or 14.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (2,061 people or 13.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 6,734 people in total or 44.8% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Bundoora employed 23.4% in Professionals; 12.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 14.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Epping and Bundoora were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (10.6% compared to 6.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (11.5% compared to 7.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (16.4% compared to 23.4%)
