Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the Arabic speaking population in the City of Whittlesea in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 57.4% of the Arabic speaking population was born overseas, compared with 60.7% for Greater Melbourne.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the Arabic speaking population in the City of Whittlesea and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in Iraq (15.9% compared to 11.3%)
