Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Growth North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,247 people or 17.9%)
- Construction (1,289 people or 10.3%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,220 people or 9.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 4,756 people in total or 38.0% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.3% in Construction; and 4.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Growth North and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.7% compared to 4.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (17.9% compared to 13.5%)

- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (+783 persons)
- Retail Trade (+656 persons)
