In the City of Whitehorse, 87.7% of people reporting a need for assistance had access to a motor vehicle in 2021.

Analysis of the car ownership of people reporting a need for assistance in the City of Whitehorse in 2021 compared to the total population shows that 87.7% were in households owned at least one car, while 18.9% did not, compared with 77.5% and 4.8% respectively in the total population.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car, a smaller proportion who owned two cars and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 40.5% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households that owned one car, 28.4% owned two cars and 11.0% owned three cars or more, compared with 29.2%, 43.5% and 19.4% respectively for the total population.
