Dominant groups
The size of the City of West Torrens's Nepali speaking labour force in 2021 was 1,111 persons, of which 641 were employed part-time and 386 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) of Nepali speakers in the City of West Torrens in 2021 compared to Greater Adelaide shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 97.2% of the Nepali speaking labour force was employed, and 1.3% unemployed, compared with 95.1% and 2.8% respectively for Greater Adelaide.
Analysis of the Nepali speaking labour force participation rate of the population in the City of West Torrens in 2021 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (92.7%) compared with Greater Adelaide (75.6%).
Emerging groups
Between 2011 and 2021, the number of Nepali speaking population employed in the City of West Torrens showed an increase of 998 people and the number unemployed showed an increase of 11 people. In the same period, the number of people in the labour force showed an increase of 1,022 people, or 1148.3%.
