Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Sale and District planning area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,415 people or 16.7%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (1,143 people or 13.5%)
  • Retail Trade (842 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,400 people in total or 40.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the Coastal South District employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.8% in Public Administration and Safety; and 7.5% in Retail Trade.
