Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bondi Beach in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,603 people or 22.1%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (740 people or 10.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (575 people or 7.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,918 people in total or 40.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Waverley Council area employed 19.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 10.7% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 10.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Bondi Beach and Waverley Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (22.1% compared to 19.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (7.9% compared to 10.3%)
