Dominant groups

Analysis of the female service age groups of Fremantle in 2021 compared to Baldivis shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 16.4% of the female population was aged between 0 and 17, and 26.1% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 28.7% and 12.9% respectively for Baldivis.

The major differences between the female age structure of Fremantle and Baldivis were:

  • A larger percentage of 'Seniors' (11.1% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of 'Empty nesters and retirees' (11.7% compared to 7.0%)
  • A larger percentage of 'Older workers & pre-retirees' (14.0% compared to 10.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of 'Primary schoolers' (6.2% compared to 11.8%)
