There were more technicians and trades workers in Rockingham in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rockingham in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (3,317 people or 19.3%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (2,649 people or 15.4%)
  • Professionals (2,393 people or 13.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 8,359 people in total or 48.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Mining and Pastoral Region employed 20.8% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 10.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 15.1% in Professionals.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rockingham and Mining and Pastoral Region were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (15.4% compared to 10.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Sales Workers (7.8% compared to 5.5%)
