There were more technicians and trades workers in Murray-Wellington in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Murray-Wellington in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (3,863 people or 20.5%)
  • Labourers (2,636 people or 14.0%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (2,513 people or 13.3%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,012 people in total or 47.7% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Maylands employed 11.4% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 6.7% in Labourers; and 4.6% in Machinery Operators And Drivers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Murray-Wellington and Maylands were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (20.5% compared to 11.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (13.3% compared to 4.6%)
