Dominant groups
Analysis of the language used at home by the population of Mirrabooka in 2021 compared to the Metropolitan District shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who used English only, and a larger proportion of those using a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).
Overall, 48.5% of the population used English only, and 44.4% used a non-English language, compared with 73.3% and 21.7% respectively for the Metropolitan District.
The dominant language used at home, other than English, in Mirrabooka was Vietnamese, with 8.8% of the population, or 4,243 people using this language at home.
The major differences between the languages used at home for the population of Mirrabooka and the Metropolitan District in 2021 were:
- A larger percentage using Vietnamese at home (8.8% compared to 1.1%)
- A larger percentage using Arabic at home (3.5% compared to 0.8%)

The largest changes in the languages used by the population in Mirrabooka between 2016 and 2021 were for those using:

- Dari (-163 persons)
- Italian (-150 persons)
