Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Kalamunda in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Education and Training (2,290 people or 11.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,251 people or 11.6%)
  • Construction (1,791 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,332 people in total or 32.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Mining and Pastoral Region employed 8.6% in Education and Training; 9.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.5% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Kalamunda and Mining and Pastoral Region were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (7.4% compared to 2.5%)
