Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Southern River in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,740 males or 13.0%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,335 males or 9.9%)
  • Manufacturing (1,231 males or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,306 males in total or 32.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Mount Lawley employed 11.1% in Construction; 5.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 4.7% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Southern River and Mount Lawley were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.9% compared to 5.1%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (9.2% compared to 4.7%)
