Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Butler in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,284 females or 25.1%)
  • Retail Trade (1,742 females or 13.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,716 females or 13.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,742 females in total or 51.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional WA employed 20.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.3% in Retail Trade; and 14.5% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Butler and Regional WA were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (25.1% compared to 20.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.3% compared to 11.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (0.9% compared to 5.7%)
