Baldivis's industry statistics identify the industry sectors in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.
When viewed in conjunction with Residents Place of Work data and Method of Travel to Work, industry sector statistics provide insights into the relationship between the economic and residential role of the area.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Baldivis in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (3,873 people or 13.8%)
- Retail Trade (2,692 people or 9.6%)
- Construction (2,528 people or 9.0%)
In combination, these three industries employed 9,093 people in total or 32.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Cannington employed 14.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.1% in Retail Trade; and 6.9% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Baldivis and Cannington were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in mining (8.4% compared to 4.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (8.1% compared to 5.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (6.5% compared to 9.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (4.6% compared to 7.3%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed people in Baldivis increased by 15,094 between 2011 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2011 and 2021 in Baldivis were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+2,565 persons)
- Mining (+1,555 persons)
- Retail Trade (+1,389 persons)
- Education and Training (+1,292 persons)
