Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Riverton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,523 females or 24.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,723 females or 16.6%)
  • Retail Trade (940 females or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,186 females in total or 49.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Belmont employed 21.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Education and Training; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Riverton and Belmont were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (16.6% compared to 9.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (24.3% compared to 21.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in mining (2.3% compared to 4.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (2.2% compared to 4.4%)
