Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Kalamunda in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Education and Training (2,290 people or 11.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,251 people or 11.6%)
  • Construction (1,791 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,332 people in total or 32.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Baldivis employed 7.6% in Education and Training; 13.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.0% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Kalamunda and Baldivis were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (11.8% compared to 7.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (7.4% compared to 4.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (11.6% compared to 13.8%)
