Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in the Regional District in 2021 compared to Victoria Park shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 23.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.2% were one-parent families, compared with 20.9% and 7.2% respectively for Victoria Park.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 23.7% compared to 31.6% in Victoria Park while the proportion of couples without children was 26.9% compared to 23.9% in Victoria Park.

The number of households in Regional District increased by 5,182 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in family/household types in the Regional District between 2016 and 2021 were:
- Lone person (+4,801 households)
- Couples with children (-3,685 households)
- Couples without children (+1,580 households)
- One parent families (+865 households)
