Analysis of the household/family types in Swan Hills in 2021 compared to Cottesloe shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 39.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.1% were one-parent families, compared with 30.2% and 7.4% respectively for Cottesloe.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 15.8% compared to 27.4% in Cottesloe while the proportion of couples without children was 25.5% compared to 26.6% in Cottesloe.
