Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Kimberley in 2021 compared to Mount Lawley shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 13.6% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.5% were blended families, compared with 9.5% and 2.0% respectively for Mount Lawley.
There were a higher proportion of other families and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 2.5% compared to 0.2% in Mount Lawley while the proportion of intact families was 79.4% compared to 88.4% in Mount Lawley.

The number of couple families with children in Kimberley increased by 32 between 2016 and 2021.
