Analysis of the share of the population attending educational institutions in Nedlands in 2021 compared to the Regional District shows that there was a lower proportion attending primary school, a similar proportion attending secondary school, and a higher proportion engaged in tertiary level education.
Overall, 7.3% of the population were attending primary school, 6.5% of the population were attending secondary institutions, and 13.4% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 8.1%, 6.1% and 3.6% respectively for the Regional District.
The major differences between the share of the population attending learning institutions in Nedlands and the Regional District were:
- A larger percentage of persons attending University (12.0% compared to 1.6%)
- A larger percentage of persons attending and independent secondary school (2.5% compared to 1.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons not attending (66.2% compared to 70.1%)
