Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 16,999 separate houses in the area, 1,162 medium density dwellings, and 38 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Wanneroo in 2021 shows that 92.6% of all dwellings were separate houses; 6.3% were medium density dwellings, and 0.2% were in high density dwellings, compared with 46.3%, 41.3%, and 12.2% in the South Perth respectively.

In 2021, a total of 94.8% of the dwellings in Wanneroo were occupied on Census night, compared to 88.3% in South Perth. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 5.2%, which is smaller compared to that found in South Perth (11.5%).
