Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 10,033 separate houses in the area, 5,022 medium density dwellings, and 6,194 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Nedlands in 2021 shows that 47.1% of all dwellings were separate houses; 23.6% were medium density dwellings, and 29.1% were in high density dwellings, compared with 65.2%, 21.0%, and 4.3% in the Pilbara respectively.

In 2021, a total of 88.8% of the dwellings in Nedlands were occupied on Census night, compared to 79.3% in Pilbara. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 10.9%, which is smaller compared to that found in Pilbara (20.0%).
